Design Validation
Printing quality parts at scale requires proper design validation
Each print process has characteristics that affect the part design. Many software packages leave validation of the part design until the manufacturing stage, but Siemens has implemented a series of additive manufacturing part validation tools in our NX CAD system. By moving the part validation step forward to the design portion of the process, design errors can be found and rectified much earlier, leading to cost savings that ripple throughout the rest of the additive manufacturing process.
Additive Manufacturing
Design Validation
Part validation is key to generating quality, repeatable additive manufacturing output.
Performance Simulation
Once a design is complete, most companies will simulate the performance of the design in real-world conditions. Simcenter 3D speeds the simulation process by combining best-in-class geometry editing, associative simulation modeling, and multi-discipline solutions embedded with industry expertise. It is available as a standalone simulation environment but is also available completely integrated with NX delivering a seamless CAD/CAE experience.
Production Readiness Validation
Additive manufacturing processes have unique requirements including, allowable overhang, print resolution, and print volume. NX includes a series of integrated solutions for validating designs against these process requirements. This allows both the designer and the shop floor operator to be confident that the designs released to manufacturing are printable using the selected technology and material, saving time and money.
